We all love and adore them - the actors and musicians who entertain us with their performances. We think to ourselves that we would love to meet just one in our lifetimes, so that we could be that much closer to our heroes - even if it is for only a brief moment in time.
Busaba's Thai Cuisine, our staff, and many of our guests have had that opportunity on more than one occassion. So we have created this page to say "thank-you" to those entertainers who have graced us with their presence.
Many of us grew up with this fine gentleman, inviting Mr. John Astin into our homes under the guise of 'Gomez Addams' of 'The Addams Family. Mr. Astin has also performed star roles in dozens of other cult movies and television shows, including the ridiculously funny 'Revenge of The Killer Tomatoes'.
We really enjoyed Mr. Astin's visit, and were astonished by his outgoing and carefree character. He took the time from his meal to visit with other guests dining with us, to share with them a bit of his wisdom and charm, and to pose for photographs.
We were wailing with enthusiasm when Mr. Glenn DeCosta of 'The Wailers' (formerly known as 'Bob Marley and the Wailers') dropped in for a visit. The spectacular Mr. DeCosta enjoyed a quiet meal with us, then revealed his heart's dream - to one day own his own restaurant in Jamaica.
Mr. DeCosta's photograph will be posted on this site once developed.
Sometimes, we have no idea Who will be walking through our doors. Just prior to the performance of 'The Beatles Tribute - A Walk Down Abbey Road' at the Saenger Theatre, Mr. Kenney Jones graced us with his legendary appearance. He ordered a pineapple-shrimp curry to-go, and took it backstage at the Saenger to share with the other performing artists.
Mr. Jones, formerly the drummer for a band called Faces, was now the drummer for the remnants of The Who - only the best band to ever produce music! He invited us backstage at the concert, where Busaba and myself (Roy) had the pleasure of meeting with Alan Parsons (The Alan Parsons Project), Todd Rundgren (Utopia), Ann Wilson (Heart), and the late John Entwistle (The Who - bassist).
We were not ready for Mr. Jones' visit, so no photograph was taken. We do have photographs from backstage, which we will be posting to this page as soon as they are developed.
